RCL FOODS – Still Leading the way in Climate Change Management

Every year we take part in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Change survey – and in 2018 we came top of our category, again!

Even though a stricter scoring system was implemented, we managed to score an A- for the second year running, coming in ahead of the rest of the local Food, Beverage & Tobacco sector and the Africa region which both achieved a B-. That means we, along with our main shareholder Remgro, are recognised as leaders in climate change mitigation.

Climate change is not the only area where we want to sustain our environment: we’re also on a journey to become a water-smart, waste free business. As part of this, we took part in the CDP Water Security survey in 2018 and achieved a C rating, on par with the rest of our sector. We know what we need to do to move the needle even more, and we already have a number of projects on the go to reduce our water use. Here’s to achieving even more in the year to come!
